Five Checks for Servo Matching

A servo motor and drive must be compatible electrically, through feedback and at the control layer. Check rated power and voltage, continuous and peak current, encoder type, control mode and communication interface.

Power and Feedback

The drive output must cover rated and peak motor demand, while encoder protocol and resolution must be supported. Braking resistor, brake supply and safety circuits also require verification.

Commissioning

After motor identification, inertia estimation, direction and limit setup, tune position, speed and current loops for the machine cycle. Correct matching improves response, repeatability and stability.
